CHAPTER XVI<\/h2>\n

EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD<\/h1>\n

1.<\/b>\u00a0In order to constitute a meeting or the Board, the\u00a0quorum<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>shall be\u00a0eight<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

(Note: Local Education authority 4
\nLocal Education Committee 3)<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
2.<\/b>\u00a0If the Chairman is absent from any meeting, the Board shall choose another member from among themselves to act as Chairman.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
3.\u00a0<\/b>In the case of an equality of votes on any matter, the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
4.<\/b>\u00a0If a member is absent from two consecutive meetings of the Board without the permission of the Chairman, he can be removed from the Board.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
5.<\/b>\u00a0The Board may require the attendance of officers at any of its meeting if such a course is deemed necessary for the discharge of its duties.<\/span><\/div>\n

6<\/b>.<\/b>\u00a0The\u00a0Director of Public Instruction<\/b>\u00a0shall be<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n
7.<\/b>\u00a0A record of the proceedings of each meeting of the Board shall be kept by the Secretary.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
8.<\/b>\u00a0The Secretary shall prepare draft minutes of the meetings of the Board for approval and\u00a0signature by Chairman.\u00a0<\/b>The minutes and the resolutions of the Board shall be presented to the Government by the Secretary with such details as are relevant thereto.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
8A.<\/b>\u00a0The Secretary shall present annually, before the 1st day of March every year, to the Government a report as to the advice tendered to the Government on matters coming before the Board during the previous \u00a0year and the Government shall within six months from the date of receipt of such report, cause a copy thereof, together with a memorandum explaining in respect of the matters, if any, where the advice of the Board was not accepted, the reason for such non- acceptance, to be laid before the Legislative Assembly<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
9.\u00a0<\/b>The Board shall generally meet once in six months and at such time and for such period as the Chairman may determine. The meetings of the Board shall ordinarily be held in the office of the Director of Public Instruction.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
10.\u00a0<\/b>The members may send suggestions for consideration of the Board fourteen days in advance of the date of the meeting.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
11.<\/b>\u00a0The non- official members of the Board shall be paid travelling and daily allowance from the funds of the Education Department at the rates admissible to first class officers and official members shall be paid travelling and daily allowance at the rates admissible under the Rules in force relating to the grant of such allowances. If any of the members of the Board is a member of the Legislative Assembly, he will be paid travelling allowance and daily allowance at the rates admissible to members of the Legislative Assembly. The entire expenditure for the Board will be met from funds, which will be provided in the Budget of the Education Department.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
