Definitions:-\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>For the purpose of this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires,-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><br \/>\n(a) &#8216;Department&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>means, The Higher Secondary Education Department of Kerala.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n(b) &#8216;Director&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0means, Director of Higher Secondary Education Department, Kerala or such other Officer or Officers who may, from time to time, be appointed by the Government to exercise all or any of the powers of the Director of Higher Secondary Education;<\/p>\n<p><strong>(c) &#8216;Higher Secondary Course&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>means a continuous two year course of study offered as part of School Education after Standard X.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(d) &#8216;Higher Secondary School Teacher&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>means a Higher Secondary School Teacher of an aided school whose workload is\u00a015 or more periods per week per subject.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>\uff311. The minimum required work load of a higher secondary Teacher (Periods per week) is:<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>(A) 20<br \/>\n(B) 16<br \/>\n(C) 25<br \/>\n(D) 15<br \/>\nANSWER: (D) 15<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>(e) &#8216;Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior)\u00a0<\/b>means a Higher Secondary School Teacher of an aided school whose work load is\u00a0less than 15 periods per week per subject.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\uff312.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Teachers of Higher Secondary School whose work load is less than 15 periods per week per subject is termed as<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>:(A) Principal<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(B) Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(C) Junior Lecturer<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(D) Higher Secondary School Teacher(Senior)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Correct Answer-Option:(B)<\/span><strong> Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>(f) &#8216;Principal&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>means the teacher who acts as the academic and administrative head of the Higher Secondary School.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(g) &#8216;Junior Lecturer&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>means Junior Lecturer who become excess on\u00a0delinking\u00a0of Pre-Degree Course from the Colleges under the management and who opted to become Higher Secondary School Teacher.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\uff313.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; means who become excess on delinking of Pre Degree courses from the colleges under the management and who opted to become Higher Secondary School Teacher.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(A) Junior Lecturer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(B) Principal<\/p>\n<p>(C) Director of H.S.S.<\/p>\n<p>(D) Higher Secondary School Teacher<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>(h)\u00a0<\/strong>Unless the context otherwise requires, words and expressions used in this chapter, but not defined here in, shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Kerala Education Act, 1958 and in the foregoing Chapters of these rules.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. Method of appointment and qualification of Teachers and Non Teaching Staff:-<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules the method of appointment and qualifications of the teaching and non &#8211; teaching staff in the aided Higher Secondary School in the State shall be as prescribed in this Chapter.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. (i) By transfer from qualified High School Assistants<br \/>\nin the subject concerned under the Educational<br \/>\nAgency.<\/p>\n<p>(ii) In the absence of qualified hands under item (i)<br \/>\nabove, by transfer from qualified Upper Primary<br \/>\nSchool Assistants \/ Lower Primary School<br \/>\nAssistants in the subject concerned under the<br \/>\nEducational Agency.<\/p>\n<p>2. By direct appointment<\/p>\n<p>Note:- (i)\u00a025% of the total posts shall be filled up by the<br \/>\nmethod specified in item (I) above on seniority &#8211;<br \/>\ncum suitability basis and 75% of<br \/>\nsuch post shall be filled up by direct appointment.<\/p>\n<p>(ii) When qualified persons are not available to fill up<br \/>\nthe vacancies set apart for appointment by transfer<br \/>\nunder item 1 above, such vacancies also shall be<br \/>\nallotted for direct appointment.4Librarian Grade III<\/p>\n<p>1. By direct appointment; and<\/p>\n<p>2. By promotion from qualified persons in category 5<br \/>\nunder the Educational Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Note:-<br \/>\nDirect Appointment and promotion shall be<br \/>\nin the ratio 1:1 in the absence of qualified<br \/>\ncandidates under item 2 above such posts<br \/>\nshall be filled up by direct appointment<\/p>\n<p>5Librarian Grade IV<\/p>\n<p>1. By direct appointment; and<\/p>\n<p>2. By transfer from qualified persons in any category<br \/>\nof service in the schools under the Educational<br \/>\nAgency.<\/p>\n<p>Note:- 75% of the total post shall be filled up by direct<br \/>\nappointment and the remaining 25% by transfer on<br \/>\nthe basis of seniority as above. In the absence of<br \/>\nqualified persons for appointment by the method<br \/>\nspecified in item 2 above, such vacancies shall be<br \/>\nfilled up by the method specified in item I above.<\/p>\n<p>6Laboratory Assistant<\/p>\n<p>1. By direct appointment, and<\/p>\n<p>2. By transfer from among qualified last grade<br \/>\nemployees in Schools under the Educational<br \/>\nAgency.<\/p>\n<p>Note:- 25% of the total posts of Laboratory Assistants<br \/>\nshall be filled up by transfer from among qualified<br \/>\nclass IV employees in the Schools under the<br \/>\nEducational Agency and the remaining 75% by<br \/>\ndirect appointment.
